COACHING AND HYPNOTHERAPY
My journey started at age 31 the diagnosis came as a huge shock I was not feeling sick, there was no pain it was just a tiny little lump in my breast which I thought was a result of someone bumping into me. My partner that time convinced me to go and get that checked and here I was diagnosed with breast cancer just two days before my 31st Birthday.
I went through the whole lot, mastectomy, chemo therapy and hormone therapy. The information from my doctors were so overwhelming, some of them were ruthless not giving any option to have a whole life - I was asking for second and third opinions I was just offered a new position with a company that fully supported me through my journey even though they just employed me.
My approach was to live a full life as much as it was possible. I made sure to surround myself with positive people, I was not interested in anybody feeling sorry for me because I did not feel sorry for myself. I decided to go to work whenever I could even after my chemo sessions until I got too sick to do so but normality was essential to get through the overwhelm of appointments and treatments and feeling "normal" was a huge part of my healing.
As soon as I recovered I was determined to help other women going through this experience so I became a peer supporter with one of the largest cancer research institution in Australia.
My experience just giving the opportunity to women to talk to someone who has been on the same path is priceless. Guiding them through change of mindset gives a new hope and different perspective which helps us to push through the next day and the next.
I understand breast cancer diagnosis and everything that comes with it can be emotionally challenging not just for the patient but for their family as well.
It is a very overwhelming journey and we often forget how important our mindset is.
Some days you may feel extremely sad, some days you may feel crying all day, some days you may feel you don't want to get out of bed, some days it may just all feel very overwhelming and the future seems too far and there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
On those days you need to remember just to take one day at a time.
However, on your journey to health and recovery it is very important to keep your mindset strong and have a positive attitude towards life.
Staying in a negative and low state for too long will not benefit your recovery and your healing. Shifting your negative mindset and focusing on your positive mental, emotional and physical state as well as your healing and wellbeing is the key.
Hypnotherapy can help you to strengthen your mindset, quiet your mind, change your thoughts and balance out your emotions in the mist of it all.
